WHO WE ARE
Created in 2019 by a group of community-minded individuals, the Prairie Lakes Community Fund is a local endowment fund that can support communities in the area for years to come. Once the fund is large enough, earnings from the fund will be given as grants to support projects in the RM of Prairie Lakes.
An Endowment fund is one of the most important assets that small and rural communities can have. The endowment is permanent - only the income is distributed. So, an endowment is a great way to ensure that your community has a valuable resource that lasts forever.
WHAT IS AN ENDOWMENT FUND?
An endowment fund is a pool of money made up of gifts from individuals, estates, organizations, businesses, etc. The earnings generated from the fund are used to award grants each year, according to the mandate and criteria set by the fund’s advisory committee. As more donations are made to the endowment fund, more income is generated, to be distributed.
OUR MANDATE
The income generated from the Prairie Lakes Community Fund will be awarded in the form of grants to local organizations and projects, with preference given to those located in the RM of Prairie Lakes.
